Townsend has advised numerous clients in the area of telecommunications and wireless communications. As many of our technology clients have adapted their product lines to meet with wireless standards, we have adapted our practice to help guide them through the challenges presented by this rapidly growing segment of the technology market.
We have advised clients such as Logitech on a number of patents related to webcams and related software. We have also advised Logitech and other clients with regard to wireless connection of peripheral devices utilizing Bluetooth (short-range wireless) technology and the development of such products in compliance with Bluetooth standards.
In many cases, we have advised clients with regard to wireless applications of existing products and/or the development of new products that are ancillary to their business. To date, Townsend has prosecuted in excess of 500 patents and litigated numerous patent disputes related to wireless and similar telecommunications for major telecommunications companies and other companies utilizing wireless communications including Logitech, Qwest Communications, Qualcomm, Kensington, Visa, Inc. and ViaSat, Inc.
