Heather Habes focuses her practice on complex insurance recovery for policyholders under a wide variety of policies, including directors and officers liability, commercial general liability, professional liability, entertainment, property, employment practices and workers’ compensation policies. She has assisted in collecting millions of dollars of insurance coverage for professional errors and omissions, directors and officers liability, and construction defect claims. Working closely with in-house counsel and senior executives, Ms. Habes provides advice and consultation to maximize insurance protection and recovery.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Habes worked as an associate in the Los Angeles, California office of an international law firm where her practice concentrated on construction litigation and insurance coverage disputes.
During law school, Ms. Habes was a judicial extern for the Honorable Stephen Hillman of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and Notes Editor of the Interdisciplinary Law Journal. Ms. Habes also worked with the Post-Conviction Justice Project in Los Angeles as a Certified Law Student Counsel where she served as legal counsel to life inmates at the California Institute for Women at parole hearings and prepared writ of habeas corpus petitions in state and federal courts.
